Rail Fence Block Pattern
It's here! The Spicerack Sampler is here!
This week, we're making Block 1, the Rail Fence.
My sampler blocks are meant to build your skills. They start out very easy, and then as we go along, I'll teach you several techniques that will really round out your repertoire!
The Rail Fence block is a classic! And there are so many variations and things you can do with this design! I decided to keep it simple and modern. I chose to use two contrasting solids and as many stripes as I was comfortable with fitting in. That ended up being six. So I've got three in a dark fabric and three in a light one. I'm using Kona Cotton Lime and Kona Cotton Bone (which you can see by watching my YouTube video linked below). I don't have the background on the Rail Fence block, but I know it's been around for over 100 years!

I like it! It has a woven effect. I created tis mock-up in EQ8. I bought it a few months ago, and I have to say, I'm loving it! Do you use EQ8?
